Can you Ask a Judge for a Reduction in Wage Garnishment?

I am currently paying 25% back for a debt. Is it possible to write a letter to the judge asking for a reduction, for a period of time. The Company has already taken back $10,251 dollars. They are unwilling to settle claim as of yet. My circumtances have changed and living paycheck to paycheck. I am not able to pay rent,car note or any thing else. Is there any Hope…….

You can always ask for the judge to reconsider his ruling, but the cost of getting back in front of him will be $$ for a lawyer, you can’t just ask to go on his schedule and walk in there to talk. You have to file a petition, etc etc.

If I was you I’d talk to a bankruptcy attorney to get a fresh start, they are normally free for the first consultation and can give you other legal options to help you out. Good luck, hang in there, remember what Bob Parsons says, no matter how bad it gets, they can’t eat you…

Yes, you can go in to court and ask for a modification of the current wage garnishment order but if you are only paying 25% of your income I highly doubt they will lower it.

you can ask; usually the state only allows a certain percentage of a check to be taken.
